In 1995, an unknown pathogen is detected. By Christmas, 2/3rds of the world's population is dead. As mysteriously as the disease came, so too did the cure. By splicing human genetics with that of cats and dogs, what became of humanity limped into the new millennium by the skin of its teeth.

Just when some semblance of society began to prosper, an enigmatic entity known only as the Overseer appeared in a massive airship, announcing a challenge. Arrive at scheduled battlegrounds, and be the only one to leave alive. The prize was an audience with someone who had access to wealth and technology not seen since before the fall of Man.

Only the ambitious and the desperate heeded his call.
